Or perhaps they have simply stopped for a while. The painting intentionally leaves that question unanswered. Misty Lake with a Boat is about surrender — about releasing the need to always know what happens next and allowing uncertainty to exist without immediately trying to resolve it. The silence here isn't empty. It is spacious and full. Sometimes we don't need another answer, another destination or another decision. Sometimes we simply need permission to stop, breathe and be.
